Question

eddig drawings Name Section 1.[20 points] The instructions below apply to parts (a), (b), and (c) of this question. A sidewalk is comprised of flat rectangular slab(s) as depicted below. The diagrams are NOT to scale! The elevation at one corner is given. The land slopes are indicated by arrows that point towards lower elevations. For each part, complete the following tasks, showing all your calculations in the space provided. (i) Redraw the diagram at the given scale; identify the scale on your drawing. (i) Find the elevation at all other corners (there are three other corners for part (a), seven other corners for part (b), and five other corners for part (c)). Indicate these elevations on your drawing. (ii) Draw contour lines on your diagram at 1 foot contour intervals. (Hint: remember contour lines indicate elevation, NOT horizontal distance. They are also labeled with whole numbers.) Label these on your drawing. (iv) On your drawing, use arrows to indicate the direction of water flow. You would only need one arrow per piece of flat slab. (v) Answer any questions that may accompany the diagram. FYI: each diagram is followed by a calculations page, to show your calculations, and a drawing page, to draw your diagram. Round to one decimal place where applicable. (a) Redraw at a scale of 1"-40 on page 3. Show your calculations on page 2. 210 204.8 100 2.5% 5%

Explanation / Answer

Ans:- b.i) To the east of the salb system.

ii)No, I don't think the middle of the slab was for this purpose. If the middle portion 0% converted with 1-1.5% it will be workable.

c.i) No, I don't agree with the design. The minor teeak would be that the north side 2% convert with 8%.

ii) Because, north side is designed with 2% and from north toward south it is 4%. Due to this I don't agree with the design, this is the main problem.
