Meanwhile a 2-Mg car A is traveling at UA Determine their common velocity just after the collision. 13 m/s to the right, the Vehicles crash and become entangled. Assume that the vehicles are free to roll during Express your answer to three significant figures and include the appropriate units. Value Units L4 Submit ofl Continue

Explanation / Answer

Inital momentum of bus =5.5*20=110 Mg-m/s

Initial momemtum of car=2*13=26 Mg-m/s

Total initial momentum = 110+26=136 Mg-m/s

After collision,they entangle. Therefore, they stick to each other.

Total mass = 5.5+2=7.5 Mg

Let velocity just after collsion be v

From conservation of momentum, initial momentum=final momentum

136 Mg-m/s = 7.5v Mg-m/s

v = 136/7.5=18.13m/s

Answer is 18.13 m/s
