A 1200 N uniform boom is supported by acable perpendicular to the boom, as in the figure below. The boomis hinged at the bottom, and a 2000 Nweight hangs from its top.

I don't understand how to get the tension in the cable withoutknowing the value of l in the equation given in the solution onthis site. Can someone please explain this in more detail?
