angle of wedge, alfa = 0.01*10^-3/0.1

= 0.0001 rad

refractive index of liquid, mue = 1.6

wavelength of the light, lamda = 550 nm


a) fringe width, beta = lamda/(2*mue*alfa)

= 550*10^-9/(2*1.6*0.0001)

= 1.72*10^-3 m or 1.72 mm

b) x = 4*beta

= 4*1.72*10^-3

= 6.88*10^-3 m or 6.88 mm
