Question
The following figures (a) and (b) show two full-wave, ac/dc converters both operating under continuous current. In each circuit the source voltage is 120 V (rms), 60 Hz, the load resistance is 1 ohm, and the load inductance reactance is 3 ohm. In each circuit, the firing angle is alpha= 60 degree. Calculate the following for both circuits (a) and (b): Average of Voltage V0 across the load Average of current I0 through the load Plot the source voltage Vs, load voltage V0 and load current I0 waveforms on the coordinates directly below each converter. That is, for each converter draw the voltages and currents superimposed on top of each other within their respective coordinate plots In no more than a short sentence, briefly comment on the similarities and/or differences in the operation of the two converters. Note: No need to use a calculator or a computer to accurately plot/draw the current and voltage waveforms. Just use your hands and a pen/pencil to sketch them. Make sure to clearly identify your solutions for each converter and label the current and voltage waveforms in your sketchesExplanation / Answer
