Question
Can you help me with this? A steam power plant produces 400 MW of power. How much energydoes the power plant produce in a year? Express your answer inunits of J and Btu. This one confuses me because in the beginning, it does not sayhow long it takes the power plant to produce the 400 MW of power. Is there some generalization I should be assuming here? This is notpart of another question, so all the information is rightthere. Thanks to all. Can you help me with this? A steam power plant produces 400 MW of power. A watt is defined as 1 joule persecond. So if it's producing400MW, that means it's producing 400E6J/s The definition of power gives you the time frame. So fromhere, i assume you'd find out how many seconds there are in a yearand multiply it by the power (written as joules per second) (I'm assuming here that MW means mega watt or 1E6 watts)Related Questions
