For ball to fall in basket, KE at highest point should be zero.

Energy conservation between lowest and highest point yields:

1/2*mv0^2 = mg*(l+y)

So, 1/2*v0^2 = g*(l+y)

So, 1/2*16^2 = 32.2*(2+y)

y = 1.975 ft
