Question
The flash point of an engine oil is 363 degree F. What is the flash-point temperature in K and R? The pressure in a water line is 1500 kPa. What is the line pressure in lb/ft^2 units and lbf/in^2 (psi) units? Determine the atmospheric pressure at a location where the barometric reading is 750 mm Hg. Take the density of mercury to be 13,600 kg/m^3. The water in a tank is pressurized by air, and the pressure is measured by a multi fluid manometer as shown in Fig. P1-53. Determine the gage pressure of air in the tank if h_1 = 0.2 m, h_2 = 0.3 m, and h_3 = 0.46 m. Take the densities of water, oil, and mercury to be 1000 kg/m^3, 850 kg/m^3, and 13,600 kg/m^3, respectively.Explanation / Answer
1 Ans -
F = (9/5) *C +32
so at 363 deg F ,
deg C will be = 183.88 deg c
so in terms of kelvin K, it will be equal to 273.15+ 183.88 = 457.03 k
In terms of R,
R= 822.67
Q 2 ANS-
water line pressure = 1500 kpa given
1 kpa= 20.885 lb/ft2
so 1500 kpa =31328.16 lb/ft2
= 1500000 N/m2 =0.145037738*1500 lbf/in2= 217.5566 lbf/in2
Q 3 Ans-
p= rho* g* h
= 13.6*1000*9.81*750*10-3 = 1.00062 kg-m/s2 = 1.00062 pa answer
