3.a)Laser Perforating-it is used for perforation of packaging films to prolong the freshness and quality of perishable food. Micro perforation enhances the shelf life of vegetables etc. by exchanging oxygen through micro holes in the range of 60 – 100 µm

b)Drilling of Silicon wafers-it is used to drill micro holes in silicon wafers with virtually no micro cracks or edge melting which might weaken the cell during further processing. Laser drilling is also used for drilling of precision holes for injection nozzles in the automotive industry or needle holes in medical industry.

C)Laser removal of oil, grease, rust etc-High-power short laser pulses are used to remove oil and build-up by selective decoating without damaging or melting the surface

limitations:

a)Difficulty cutting reflective metals like copper, brass, and sometimes aluminum etc

b)Expensive as compared to process like processes plasma or water-jet cutting

c)material removal rate is very very low
