Question
A refrigeration cycle is operating between a cold thermal reservoir at a temperature Tc and a hot thermal reservior at a temperature Th. The thermal transfers are Qc from the cold reservoir and Qh to the hot reservoir.
If Qc and Qh are known, but we don't know what the temeratures Tc and Th are, Which ofthe follwing is true?
a)the cycle is reversible.
b)the cycle is irreversible.
c)wo don't have enough information.
Now take the same refrigaerator, some time later, after it has had some wear. suppose Qh is the same as before, but Qc has decreased by one percent from what it was before. Assume that the tempurtures have not changed from what they were before. Now, which of the follwing is true?
a)the cycle is reversible.
b)the cycle is irreversible.
c)wo don't have enough information.
Explanation / Answer
c) we don,t have enough information because if Qh and Qc are given it may be reversible or may be irreversible but if temp is given then it is only reversible and is never irreversible....................
a) cycle is reversible because if it is irreversible then temp will be decrease but temp remains constant then it is only reversible .................
