Question
At the Tivoli amusement park in Copenhagen, you can ride one of the largest merry-go-rounds in the World. During the ride, the angle of the cable with respect to the vertical is approximately 60 degrees, and the length of the cable can be estimated at 6 meters. What is the angular velocity?
I have tried doing this calculating the period of the merry go round like that of a pendulum and using the relationship between that and which got me to 1.278 rad/s which is wrong.
Can someone point me in the correct direction?
