   PROPERTY OF CONDUCTOR: The whole charge resides on the outer surface of the conductor (A)   According to the property of conductor the charge on the inner surface of the conductor is zero (B) The charge on the outer surface of the conductor is Q = 20 nC (C) If we place the charge(q = -14 nC) inside the cavity of the conductor, an equal and opposite charge induced on the inner surface of the conductor. Hence, the charge on the inner surface of the conductor is q = + 14 nC (D) An equal charge of (q = -14 nC) will add to the outer surface of the conductor. Hence, the charge on the outer surface of the conductor is     q' =   Q + q   = 20 nC + ( -14 nC)   = 6 nC
