Question
A ball having a mass 5.0 grams is thrown upward with initial velocity of 9.0 m/s from a height of 2.0 m above the ground. If it bounces elastically off the ground in 0.01 s, what is the average force exerted by the ground? Answer is 11 N.I dont' know how to start. The things I have calculated are the time it takes for the ball to reach the max height is .9184 s, the max height is 4.1327 m, the time it takes to reach its initial position and velocity are 1.8367 s and -9.0m/s, and the time to reach the ground from that point is 2.037 sec. No clue how to calculate the Force that it strikes the ground.
Explanation / Answer
I think you are wrong ! that is the Velocity when it hit the flooor ! 11 m/s ! what is your source for that answer
