Question

The dye laser used in the treatment of the port-wine stain in the drawing has a wavelength of 585 nm. A carbon dioxide laser produces a wavelength of 1.06 x 10-5 m. What is the minimum number of photons that the carbon dioxide laser must produce to deliver at least as much or more energy to a target as do 3 photon(s) from the dye laser?

I found that for 1 photon the laser must produce at least 19 photons. I just multiplied this by 3 and that wasnt correct. What should i do after i find the 19 photons?

Explanation / Answer

the dye laser produce 3.4e-19 J multiply that answer by 3 (photons) and then divide it by 1.88e-20 (CO2)
