Question

How would you set up this circuit in real life. In my understanding the red wire comes out of the power supply into the ammeter then out of the ammeter and into one end of the diode, from there one wire would connect on top of the wire into the end of the diode and into the light bulb hole, then another wire would go from the light bulb and back into the other end of the diode, with black wire coming out of that and back into the power supple. Then a wire would go from the top of the diode again and into the resistor, and another would go in at the other resistor and back into the other end of the diode. Then the voltmeter would be connected on top of the resistor wires.

Please let me know if this is correct, if anyone needs anymore clarification please do not hesitate to let me know! Thanks!

Explanation / Answer

well done sir. that is the correct circuit voltmeter is always connected in parallel to the circuit components as the voltage remains same in the parallel ammeter is connected in series with the circuit components to get the current out of the circuit.
