In 1993 Hantavirusbwas first identified in Denver residency it is a group of viruses carried by the rodents,people in contact with deer mouse,saliva,urine,droppings,nesting materials, can place you at the risk of infection..symptoms appear after one to eight weeks of inhalation of this virus,symptoms include sore muscles,nausea,vomiting,fatigue,,fever, headache.,as the symptoms worsen it causes shortness of breath due to fluid filled cavity in lungs,the disease is dangerous as it causes death of one out of three persons.

Steps to avoid Hantavirus:

Avoid coming into contact with rodents and rodent burrows or disturbing dens

.Air out cabins and shelters, then check for signs of rodent infestation. Do not sweep out infested cabins. Instead, use the guidelines above for disinfecting cabins or shelters before sleeping in them.

Donot pitch tents or place sleeping bags near rodent droppings or burrows.
