Could you please show me all the steps to how you solved this problem?! Thank you!!! :)
The light is linearly polarized along the axis of the first filter. The light is linearly polarized along the axis of the second filter.The light is linearly polarized perpendicular to the axis of the second filter.
The light is linearly polarized perpendicular to the axis of the first filter.

Explanation / Answer
a)
Initial light is unpolarized, Therefore the intensity after it has passed through the first polarizer:
I1 = (1/2)*I0
For the secon polizer, we have:
I2 = I1 cos2()
= (1/2)*I0 * cos2(37.0)
= 0.319 I0
Answer : 0.319

b)
The light is linearly polarized along the axis of the second filter.
State of polarization is along the last polizer.
