Please Make sure you write the solution in a computer not in paper thanks.
Question 1 :
You are employed as an engineer in a company that manufactures chemical products. Your company is quite conscientious in the area of risk management. However, the company has recently bought-out a local chemical firm with questionable interests in safety and risk. Therefore, you have been asked to prepare a plan to identify hazards in that firm's facility such that upgrading can be undertaken and the acquired plant will then be in line with your company's policies. What is the general outline of your plan.Explanation / Answer
first of all it is important for both the client and the services provider to be aware of all relevant safety aspects, and they should be trained for the same. Everyone should be well aware of the plan that is to be followed during a shutdown procedure.
After checking safety, a plan should be created to ensure that everything is done in a proper manner and every thing is being taken care of.
proper communication should also be maintained between control room and the workers during shutdown
because hazardous process chemicals are still present at the installation in storage tanks, warehouses, silos and pipelines even when the production process is not running and some equipments have been emptied and cleaned, so planning and safety measure are very much important.
now control rooms should not be left unmanned during the shutdown, because then alarms may go unnoticed.
so, these all are basic safety and technical issues that are to be taken care of.
now there will be stuffs like dealing with the contractors also their tenders are to be taken care of.
