Can someone help me answer this question? What differentiates the two plant specimens Yucca angustissima and Yucca baccata? Is it elevation, phenology, habitat differences? Physical Characteristics; They are not much different in their physical appearance as both are evergreen shrubs having a similar type of climatic conditions and physical appearance as similar hermaphrodite flowers and leaves. rather their size differences are accountable such that Yucca angustissima grows up to 0.4 m (1ft 4in) while Yucca batata growing to 0.9 m (3ft).
Habitat- Yucca angustissima can grow in the semi-shade conditions but Yucca batata cannot grow in shade. Yucca angustissima can be found in the Cultivated Beds and Woodland Garden Sunny Edge. while Yucca batata is found only on Cultivated Beds.
Edible usage- Only stem, Flowers, the fruit of Yucca angustissima is edible. while, leaves, stem, Flowers, Fruit, and Seeds of Yucca batata are edible.
Medical usage- Yucca batata has been used as laxative and antiemetic, but Yucca angustissima has not such recorded medical usage.
Locations- While Yucca angustissima is strictly found in USA, Australia, and North America, Yucca batata can be found in USA, Australia, and North America as well in Mexico and Tasmanian regions.
