Question
A Ferris wheel with constant radius R is turning at a constant w. Its located at
0i+Aj+Rk. A water slide in the shape of a helix with radius r is
located at its base at 0i+Bj+0k. The spirals in the Helix are
spaced delta z apart and it spirals downward in a spiral clockwise
manor. At t=0 a rider on a Ferris wheel is at 0i+Aj+2Rk. At the
same time a person at the waterslide is at -ri+Bj+2Rk. the person
on the water slide is sliding down at a constant velocity v.
Determine the position of the person on the Ferris wheel and on the
waterslide as a function of time in x,y,z coords. What is the
position of the person on the waterslide as viewed from the person
on the Ferris wheel? What are the velocity and accelerations if the
person on the waterslide as viewed from the person on the Ferris
wheel?
Not really sure where to start, any hints appreciated.
