Question
A boat crosses a river with constant velocity with respect to water, v=.3m/s. The boat's velocity is directed perpendicular to the shores of the river. River width b=63m. River flow is not constant and changes across the river as a parabolic function u=u(i) - 4(u(i)/b^2) * (x-(b/2)^2 where x- distance from the shore, u(i)=5m/s. Find the drift s of the boat along the river when it reaches opposite shower. I know the equation is u=5-4(5/3969)*(.3t-31.5)^2 and i have to integrate that from 0 to 210, I just want to confirm I am integrating it correctly.Explanation / Answer
yes you are integrating it correctly this will give you the right answer.
