Question
Having trouble with this one!
The two wires shown in the figure carry currents of I = 4.78 A in opposite directions and are separated by a distance of d0 = 8.98 cm.
a. Calculate the net magnetic field at a point midway between the wires. Use the direction out of the page as the positive direction and into the page as the negative direction in your answer.
b.Calculate the net magnetic field at point P1- that is 8.52 cm to the right of the wire on the right.
c.Calculate the net magnetic field at point P2- that is 21.5 cm to the left of the wire on the left.
Explanation / Answer
a)at mid way direction of both fields is same and magnitude B=b1+b2=2b=-2*muo*4.78/2*3.14*4.49*10-2-------into tha page---------(get doing calculaiton)---------------- b)b1 due near wire=muo*4.78/2*3.14*8.52*10-2(out of page)--------------------- b2 due to farthest wire=-muo*4.78/2*3.14*17.5*10-2-------------into page (negetive)--- B=b1-b2----------do calculation, u get positive (out to page)-------------- c)now u know how to do (same as b part)------------------- thankyou--------------------
