Question

I have a physics project due tomorrow and I'm doing some revisions. What I'm doing is giving a presentation on a real life application of physics. So I did a squat, measured the distance of displacement, the time it took, velocity, and acceleration. From that I found the force that was needed on the upward and downward parts of the exercise. I calculated a simplified version of the work it would take, but I need to explain torque and the center of mass to the class. Would I be correct in saying that Upwards would require more force because of the torque around the knee would be negative since its clockwise as you extend it? Not sure what I could say about center of mass.

Explanation / Answer

upward requires more force cz ur c.o.m is moving against gravity. if u look at torque also it will be in opposite direction. same thing but diff way to say.
