a) 0.5*m*vb^2 = m*g(7.9-3.2)

vb = sqrt(2*4.7*9.8) = 9.598 m/s


0.5*m*vc^2 = m*g(7.9-2)

vc = sqrt(2*5.9*9.8) = 10.75 m/s

b)

Work done = chnage in kinetoc energy

W = 0.5*m*vc^2 - 0 = 323.792 J
