The total mass of stick + can = 2.29 N

Let the mass os stick be M ...
so mass of can = 2.29 / 9.8 - M

taking moment of all the forces about the pivot..

(50-25.5)*M*9.8 = 25.5 * ( 2.29 - 9.8 M )
19.215687 M = 2.29

so M = 0.11917 kg ...

a) mass of meter scale = 0.15683 kg ..

b) mass of can = (2.29/9.8) - 0.11917 = 0.11450347 kg
