Question
Earth and Venus both experience greenhouse warming of the atmosphere. In both cases, carbon dioxide and water vapor are the two most important greenhouse gases.
Two students are discussing the greenhouse effect.
With which student do you agree?
Student 2: I think the carbon dioxide and water vapor molecules already here are just absorbing infrared energy that is radiated from the Earth and that increases the temperature.
Student 1: The greenhouse effect keeps Earth warmer than it would be otherwise because it creates more carbon dioxide and water vapor, so it makes our atmosphere thicker.
Student 2: I think the carbon dioxide and water vapor molecules already here are just absorbing infrared energy that is radiated from the Earth and that increases the temperature.
Explanation / Answer
Answer
I agree with Student 2: I think the carbon dioxide and water vapor molecules already here are just absorbing infrared energy that is radiated from the Earth and that increases the temperature.
Green house gases are carbondioxide ,methane, chloro flouro carban, nitrogen oxide, water vapour and ozone these all gases are causing greenhouse effect, this earth temperature increases named as global warming.
