Since they purchased 30% of the stock Garr Company has significant influence of Cey Company. The equity method should be used.

Net income for Cey Company is treated as net income for Garr Company and also added to the amount of the investment. .
Dividends are subtracted from the balance of the investment.

300,000 x 30% = $90,000 revenue for Garr
300,000 + 90,000 - (100,000 x 30%) = $360,000 reported investment
