dominant mutation is that mutation that will show its related phenotype even it it is present in one copy out of two copies of alleles while recessive mutation is that one which will only show its features if the organism is homozygous recessive i.e both alleles are mutated.
Imagine a plant is red in colour naturally, but it has a mutation due to which its colour changes to white.
R=red, r=white.
Now the only possible combinations of alleles if present in two copies are RR, Rr and rr.
If the white mutation is dominant, then Rr and rr both will show white colour and onlu RR will show red colour.
On the other hand, if the mutation is recessive, RR and Rr will both have red colour while rr only will have white colour. I hope you understand now.
