Explanation / Answer

Q1) Toad urine causes warts-

Explanation-

It's a myth , no amphibians causes warts when they urinate , as they have warts or bumpy looking skins these are glands which do not secrete any material, when we hold the animal to protect themselves , they pee which is harmless, This is a normal defense mechanism of the animal to escape. usually their urine smells bad and that will make a predator drop them as a result they quickly escape to safer place.

Q2) Skinks sometimes called scorpions are very venomous.

Explanation:-

Skinks are not venomous , they are a type of lizard usually carnivorous specifically insectivorous. but as a defence mechanism if the tail of skink is touched , it usally breaks up and wiggles as a result of this, predator gets distracted and skink escapes.

Q3) If a skunk or racoon comes out in the day , they have rabbies.

Explanation-  It is found that a quarter of all animals which are tested for rabies in the United States are skunks, but it is not the fact that all skunks have rabbies , though a majority of skunks carry the disease. so rabies is fatal to skunk when it contracts or gets infected with the disease, a symptom which indicate the skunk has rabies is foaming in the mouth. It is a myth that skunks active during the day time may have rabies.

In general skunk is a crepuscular animal, they are usually awake in the evening around dusk for a few hours, and are also active in the morning for a few hours at around dawn. Being active other than these hours is considered as as sign of rabies, but it is not true.

The reason behind the activeness of skunk in daytime is if the animal is pregnant or given birth during the process of rearing her young ones at times mother skunk becomes active, at unusual times of the day. sometimes it gets active by the smell of the garbage collection. this smell encourages the animal to get active.

Q4) If a snapping turtle bites you, it will not let you go untill it thunders-

Explanation- It's a myth that snapping turtle not let us go untill, it listens the sounds of thunder.

Usally a snapping turtle has a hooked, parrot-like beak, which is used for both obtaining food and self defense. The neck is long and flexible,it gives the turtle the ability to reach from around its shell ,as a result if it bites anything which disturbs it or threatens . Like other turtles snapping turtles cannot pull their head or legs into their shells for protection. so it is thought if it bites it will not let go untill it hears a thunder .

Q5) Snakes have cold slimming skins

Explanation:- Skin of a snake is the protective layer of snake. It helps the animal to prevent injury, and being dried up, the moist skin helps the snake in minimizing friction, as the snakes lack limbs, their bodies are in contact with the surface , which produces a huge amount of friction. To minimize friction and to move forward. There Scale and skin helps them. They secrete an oily substance from their nasal passage, and rub this secretion over the scales. This is done at regular intervals based on the species of the snake.

Snakes are cold-blooded animals , they take on the temperature of their surroundings. large surface area of a snake's body allows a snake to warm up and cool down faster. so skin tempreture depends on surrounding.

Q6) Don't touch that baby bird , The mother will pick up your scent and abandon her young.

Birds will not abandon their babies by human touch, because birds show good parenting, even at times they were not available nearby, but they keep an eye on the babybird, latter they come and take care of the baby bird. They also do not have a powerfull sense of smell. Their olfactory bulbs are small and simple , compared to other animals. so they can't detect human scent or smell. and they will not abandon the baby bird.
