Question

es New...14 15) How would preventing signaling by Notch affect the process of neuronal differentiation from stem cells? 16) What is the role of PAR proteins in determining polarity of a neuron? What is the consequence of the loss of PAR? 17) What are some molecules that initiate synaptogenesis and participate in the early establishment of synapses? 18) Describe an experiment that demonstrates that some plasticity remains in the adult visual cortex outside the critical period. 19) What is priming, and how can it aid in memory and also produce false recall

Explanation / Answer

1. The formation of neurons from neural stem cell is known as neurogenesis. There should be correct balance between neural stem proliferation and differentiation to develop properly. During the developmenntal process , Notch signalling which turns on Hes gene expression which pause or supress neural stem cell differentiation by inhibiting Ascl1 and Neurog2 . Due to the inhibition the amount of Ascl1 decreased which in turn doest not full fill enough to maintain or continue or start neural stem cell differentiation.
