Question
confused on part b specifically the proportions is it 100% non recombinant and 50/50 for recombinant ?
Homework 4. Linkage analysis BIO3301 Name 1. Genes a and b are 20 cM apurt. An atbtla+b+ individual was mated with abia individual. ne cross ana snow ung gameies produce by each paren and the genotype of Fl b. What gametes can the FI produce, and in what proportions: Fi cross was crossed to ab/ab individuals, what offspring would be expected, and in what proportion? d. Is this an example of the coupling or the repuision inkage c the FI were intercrossed, what offspring would be expected and in whaExplanation / Answer
A) As per the above data a+b+/a+b+ and ab/ab first thing is if there is no cross over then we will get a+b+ one type of gamete and ab other type of gamete when no crossing over.
but if there is crossing over between two nonsister chromatids then the gametes types of gametes will be
a+b+ , a+b , ab+ , ab there are the four possible so as you mentioned it is 50% parental combination and 50% recombinants or new gametes are formed .
hope this helps
