An average lapse rate of dew point with respect to atmospheric temperature are 10oC per km until the saturation point reached after that the temperature will fall at the rate of 6oC per km. And, here the condition is given that the lapse rate is 5oC per km therefore, if the storms comes with low temperature then precipitation would be low than the storm which have high temperature.
