- Two vertical cracks of fifty eight feet west and east of the gates appeared in the dam and minor seepage began to flow from the abudments as no contraction joints were provided.

- Engineers inspected the cracks and leaked and judged them as normal.

- In 1927, One more fracture appeared in the western abudment and ran diagonally upwards and to the center of the section. Engineers inspected and judged another contraction cack and filled it with oakum and grouted.
