Question

You don't have to do it on engineering paper ( but that would be amazing) i just need to know how you find the length of KA and the angles of JKA & KAB. please show work.

On engineering paper, accurately draw the plate shown to determine the length of KA, angle KAB and angle JKA. Dimensions are given in units. Choose a scale so that your drawing is within the border and covers 1/2 - 3/4 of the page. Appropriately label all the dimensions and angles on your final drawing. Bonus: Provide the mathematical check for the 2 unknown angles.

Explanation / Answer

SCALING : : 1:10

I will Explain in steps Qualitatively

STEP1 : On the engineering Pape, Draw a horizontal line AB of length 94 ( in scale take 9.4 cm)

STEP 2: Use Protactor and Make BC of Length 40 ( in scale take 4 cm) with angle 45 degrees with AB line and in Counter Clock wise Direction (CCW)

STEP3: Keep Protactor Downwards at C and Parallel to BC and draw CD of lenght 35 ( in scale take 3.5 cm) at an angle 30 degrees

STEP 4: Keep Protactor Upwards at D and Parallel to CD and draw DE of lenght 57 ( in scale take 5.7 cm) at an angle 60 degrees

STEP 5: Keep Protactor Upwards at E and Parallel to DE and draw EF of lenght 87 ( in scale take 8.7 cm) at an angle 75 degrees

STEP 6: Keep Protactor Upwards at F and Parallel to EF and draw FG of lenght 61 ( in scale take 6.1 cm) at an angle 75 degrees

STEP 7:Keep Protactor Downwards at G and Parallel to FG and draw GH of lenght 48 ( in scale take 4.8 cm) at an angle 30 degrees

STEP 8:Keep Protactor Upwards at H and Parallel to GH and draw HJ of lenght 85 ( in scale take 8.5 cm) at an angle 90 degrees

STEP 9:Keep Protactor Downwards at J and Parallel to HJ and draw JK of lenght 53 ( in scale take 5.3 cm) at an angle120 degrees

STEP10: Join the Points A and K

Measure the length AK and multiply it with 10 you will get the actual length

Also Measure the angles JKA and KAB

CHECK : For a n side Polygon the sum of the total Interior angles is (n-2)*180 Degrees

Here n = 10

Therefore The sum of all interior angles is 8*180 = 1440 Degrees

NOTE : at H Interior angle is 270 degrees

Therefore This equation must satisfy by adding all the angles
