(Dr. Beal) was in Walnut Creek the other day I don't play basketball and I've never swung a golfing frequently. He's pretty good at them, and I ran into Steph and Ayesha Curry. golf club, but Steph practices basketball and too. How sweet For each shot, we were trying to hit the golf ball as far as possible All together, Steph hit 45 balls and I hit 95 balls. Steph practices Golf frequently, and is pretty good at it too, whereas Dr Beal has no experience playing Golf. So it's likely that on an average, Steph will hit the balls farther. Steph's measurement samples are likely to have a larger mean.
On standard deviation, since Steph has good experience in Golf, his shots are likely to be more consistent and around the same area (around the mean value), whereas Dr Beal, having no experience in Golf, and trying to hit as far as possible, is more likely to hit the balls far as well as close.
