Complete parts (a) through (c) below under 5 Households 0 16 14 (a) Construct a relative frequency distribution of the data Number of Children under 5 Relative Frequency (Type integers or decimals. Do not round.) (b) What percentage of households has two children under the age of 5? (Type an integer or a decimal. Do not round.) (c) What percentage of households has one or two children under the age of 5? (Type an integer or a decimal. Do not round.)

Explanation / Answer

Total number of households ( n ) = 16+14+13+5+2 = 50

Relative frequency = frequency / Total frequency ( n )

a) Relative frequency distribution of given data as follows,

b) Relative frequency of 2 children = 0.26

In percentage = 0.26 * 100% = 26%

Therefore, there are 26% of households has two children under the age 5.

c) Relative frequency of 1 or 2 children=0.28+0.26 = 0.54

In percentage = 0.54 * 100% = 54%

Therefore, there are 54% of households has one or two children under the age 5.

Nunber of children under 5 Relative frequency 0 16/50 = 0.32 1 14/50 = 0.28 2 13/50 = 0.26 3 5/50 = 0.10 4 2/50 = 0.04
