there are 1000 woman of the age 40 10 are screened with breast cancer of the 10 people, 8 will be have breast cancer, screenedby a mammographie.(80%) from the 1000-10=990 people without breastcancer, themamographie says: that a fraction of 0.096 of them alsohas breast cancer(while this isn't true) so 8+0.096*990=8+95.9=103.9(of the 1000 women) arescreened positive for breast cancer by the mammographie. 10 of them has really breast cancer so the answer is 10/103.9=0.09........... please rate me of you are contentRelated Questions
