So it doesn't askanything about steamed tail meat or prices so throw all of thatinformation out of the question. If the processor is able to salvage about 16% of meat whenpeeling boiled crawfish and he needs 500 pounds of boiled crawfishmeat then that means that 500 pounds is equal to 16% of whateverthe live weight is of crawfish. .16(pounds of live crawfish) = 500 or pounds of live crawfish = 500 / .16 pounds of live crawfish = 3125 Therefore the processor must start with 3125 pounds of livecrawfish in order to be left with 500 pounds of boiled crawfishtails.
