Question
I have a scatter plot that i have created with a set of x, y valuesand i used the spreadsheet program from openoffice.org, like excel,to create a line of best fit. since i don't know how to use thespreadsheet program to fix my y-intercept, i was wondering if therewas a way to do it mathematically. My equation for the line of best fit is y=8.72x- 0.22
I need to make it so that the y-intercept is 0
How can i do this?

Explanation / Answer
just set it to zero y=8.72x - .22 0=8.72x - .22 .22=8.72x .22/8.72 = x x=.0252293578 y =8.72(.0252293578) - .22 y = .22 - .22 y=0
