These 5 questions are relatively easy. But I am in a bit of a hurry and have a different assignment to do... please help

What is the area in cm* of a disk 13.8 cm in diameter? Ifa cylinder with a cross sectional area of 150.0 cm2 contains 5.00 cm' of a substance, what is the height of the uniform cylinder Assuming that the cylinder is formed from cubes and is one layer (one cube) thick, what is the volume of one of these cubes? a. b. c. d. Haw many of these cubes would be present in the 5.00 cm sample c. If the densiry of the material making up the cube is 1.50 g/cm', what is the mass of one cube?

Explanation / Answer

a. Diameter = 13.8 cm

Radius = ½ * d

            = ½ * 13.8

            = 6.9 cm

Area of disk = * r2

                    = 22/7 * (6.9)2

                    = 22/7 * 6.9 * 6.9

                    = 149.63 cm2

b. Cross sectional area of cylinder = 150.0 cm2

Volume of cylinder = 5.00 cm3

Height of uniform cylinder = volume / cross sectional area

                                        = 5.00 cm3 / 150.0 cm2

                                        = 0.03 cm

c. Cylinder is formed from cube and is one layer thick

Volume of one cube = (side)3

                                  = (0.33)3

                                 = 0.035 cm3

d. Number of cubes present in 5.00cm3 sample = 5 cm3 / 0.035 cm3

= 142.85

e. density of cube = 1.50g/cm3

Mass of cube = 0.035 cm3 * 1.50 g/cm3

                      = 0.0525 g
