Question

Please show entire math of how you calculated the problem. Step by step... Thank you!

1.Suppose you have a two classes that took a test and calculated the following descriptive statistics. Class 1 had a mean score of 65.0, s1 = 10.2, with a sample size of 26. Class 2 had a mean score of 57.5, s2 = 9.7, with a sample size of 24. You have the hypothesis that class 1 had a significantly higher score than class 2.

a.Set up the appropriate hypotheses.

b.Perform the test for a = .05.

c.Draw final conclusions.

Explanation / Answer

Ho : miu 1 = miu 2

H1 : miu 1 > miu 2

T = ( 65 - 57.5 ) / ( SRQT [10.2^2 / 26 + 9.7^2 / 24])

T = 2.66

for alpha = 0.05 df = 26+24 -2 = 48 critical value : 1.684

since T > critical value we reject Ho

there is a significant difference between the means
