Question

I believe the correct form here is to first solve for the vertex giving us a vertex of 50 then plugging that back into the equation to give 72 for the maximum.

a. What is the maximum height of the object and how far from its point of release does this occur? 72

Moving on from there solve for roots using zero root.

b. What is the distance from the origin where the object hits the ground? (Assume that the object neither bounces nor rolls upon impact.) x = 102.62348115

and then find the y-intercept.

c. From what height was the object released? 7 feet

I am not completely sure if this is the appropriate way to solve this problem or not. Anyone have an idea?

function f(x) = -0.026.z2 + 2.6.x +7

Explanation / Answer

Hey dear ,

Your approach is completely correct this is the best way of solving such problem. And this shows you gained the complete knowledge of quadratic functions.
