What ever you teach in the class but I am teaching which can be useful for this question.
The most important Statistical Concepts is focus on reserach. Anyone teaching you but where you can implement this research in real scenario. Our many purpose is the make the concept visual and helpful to student work with reports of empirical studies but also create a meaningful and interesting context in which research can be discussed.
The second may a software or language where you apply this scenario. There is many software where you use. I use mainly R and Matlab software to do analysis. You can use so many software which you can learn
The third important concept is interpretation the result. Without interpration any one can not understand this.
