Question
An agency is conducting a study in which the target population is U.S companies. An agent to create to a random of 52 companies for the study to sample the agent listed all the U.S that began with the letter, assigns each company random number table to pick tow of these number and thus two companies. The agent proceeds to use the same for letter of the alphabet and then combines 52 result into a Which statement is true about the agent s procedure? Each company has an equal probability of being selected since there are an equal number of companies starting with each letter of the alphabet. The procedure eddoes not result In a sample from the target population, The sample size in not large enough to validate results. O This procedure is not likely to result In a sample representative of the target population since not all companies are equally likelyExplanation / Answer
Here we are not sure if there are equal number of companies starting with each alphabet.
For example there could have been say 10 companies starting with A and only 2 companies starting with B.
Hence we can see that for any company with A is 1/10 wherreas tha starting with B is 1.
Hence there is unequal probability.
Hence Ans->d)This procedure is not likely to result in a sample representation of the targetpopulation.......selected.
