Explanation / Answer

One very common example we encounter everyday is weather forecast. For predicting weather for coming weeks, weather models are used. Statistics is the root for these models. With the help of all the historical data collected, models are built to predict the weather conditions in the coming days like max/min temperatures, snowfall, heavy rains, hailstorm, etc. For e.g celsius temperature predictions for the coming days. This is measured on interval scale as difference is same between the adjacent values. Examples of numerical techniques which can be used with interval scales are mean, median, mode and standard deviation.
