3M was initiated in the year 1902 as a small scale mining firm. At that time, the mission of the firm can be given as below:-

Harvest the mineral known as corundum from Crystal Bay mine.

A lot of efforts were made to implement this mission but the firm was not able to perform it due to insufficient mineral extraction.

Mission Statement during Middle Time:-

After failing the initial venture, 3M focused on innovation and corporation. This laid the strongest foundation to the firm and is still deriving the company.
