Question

A position has just opened in another department at the company where you work. While you have a lot of experience in your current job, the new position would require you to learn about new products and procedures. Write a letter to the hiring manager at your company expressing your interest in the new position, relating your accomplishments in your current position, and describing how your skills will help you succeed in the new position.

Develop a response that includes examples and evidence to support your ideas, and which clearly communicates the required message to your audience. Organize your response in a clear and logical manner as appropriate for the genre of writing. Use well-structured sentences, audience-appropriate language, and correct conventions of standard American English.

Explanation / Answer

Dear Nixon,

Hope you are doing well!

I have come across a new job opening through the internal job posting portal. And I would to inform you about my strong interest in the new position.

I do understand that the new position required the knowledge about new products and procedure, which I do not have currently. But, I would like to assure you that, given the opportunity, I will learn about the new product and procedure as soon as possible.

To support my claim, I would like to draw your attention toward my last project where it was required to learn new technology for successfully completing the project and put extra effort to learn that and finally received project recognition from you at the end of the project for my outstanding work.

Also, the position goes well with my long-term career planning and fully aligned with it. Given the opportunity, I would outperform this time again.

Thank you very much.

Regards:
