Authors write for many different reasons. Those reasons are called the author's purpose. Depending on the purpose, authors may choose all different sorts of writing formats, genres and vernacular.

Indeed there is always a purpose for art. One f the primary reason for writing is the exhilarating creative expression and the freedom to pour on paper.

It is clear that the Diaz, has writing as a similar outlet, but there is more the "the Dreamer," the main purpose behind the succinct essay is the victory depicted through and despite all the hardship.

The author creates art as writing is a form of art, and art always has its ups and downs, its hang ups, when a person feels lost. The purpose for his essay was the revisiting of the past, to see again his muse, the solitary lighthouse for the wretched sailor lost at sea - His inspiration - his mother.

When a person is stuck and they cannot create further, a feeling of dread hovers over them and they feel the need to give up, but when one goes back to the start, the original reason fo them beginning, they find the cure.
