First of all this is a follow up if you are interested. Make sure that you complete the primary posting. I thought I would share a story with you of a situation I once found myself in when teaching and see what from your experience, knowledge, and instinct you would recommend principal asked to see me. I was informed that parents in another 1st grade classroom said they would not press charges if a child, who I will call Jack, was removed from that classroom, The principal had decided to place Jack in my room. Here is some basic background information on Jack, partialy gleaned from the principal an younger brother who was d partially gleaned from my own observation. Jack had a and had a hard time focusing. specifically currently undergoing treatment for cancer. Jack was very hyperactive mentioned that any medicine given to Jack was just making him "more violent" and so he was currenttoig The incipal specificaly him "more violent and so he was currently off meds. Also, the room Jack was originally in was taught by a very creative and charismatic teacher. Every day was a new adventure and a new project. etc. Sometimes they What would you recommend and why?Explanation / Answer
By the first impression it appears that Jack is hyperactive and lacks attention. This may be because of the fact the Jack’s younger brother is suffering from cancer and therefore, parents must be too stressed to take proper care of Jack. It also appears that Jack does not like newness as in the previous class each day new things occurred. This also means that he does not want change in the regular routine. It may also be possible that jack may be suffering from some sort of learning disability and therefore, is not able to comprehend what is being taught in the class. It is also quite possible that because he is not able to concentrate in the class, he is becoming aggressive. Overall, I would recommend that Jack must undergo an assessment for learning disability.
