The opportunities in the; food and beverage industry that I find interesting includes jobs such as; The Manager-purchase. This job is interesting to me as this has a good salary offer. Further, since the job profile which includes; forecasting the levels of demand for services and products.

·         Keeping a constant check on stock levels.

·         Conducting research to ascertain the best products and suppliers in terms of best value, delivery schedules and quality.

·         Liaise with suppliers, manufacturers, relevant internal departments and customers.

·         Building and maintaining good relationships with new and existing suppliers.

·         Negotiating contracts, monitoring the quality of service provided.

·         Process payments and invoices.

·         Keeping contract files and using them as a reference for the future.

·         Forecasting price trends and their impact on future activities.

·         Giving presentations about market analysis and possible growth.

·         Developing a purchasing strategy.

·         Producing reports and statistics related to purchase department.

·         Evaluating bids and making recommendations, based on commercial and technical factors.

·         Administering online purchasing systems.

·         Arranging for disposal of surplus materials

·         Maintaining purchasing information, files and records (e.g. Requests for Proposal, purchase orders, vendor files, etc.) for the purpose of ensuring the availability of documentation and compliance with established policies and regulatory guidelines

Is interesting to me and I have the relevant academic qualification being an MBA.
